The “Pleasures” of Marriage “Story of Madonna & her husband’s affairs”

I don’t know if you’ve heard the stories but it has been said that Madonna (who is married to Guy Ritchie) had an affair with Alex Rodriquez in which Alex wife supposedly had an affair with Lenny Kravitz….who also use to date Madonna?  What a web we weave!  How do we who claim so much love for our spouses and end up in cycles such as this?  And how do we resist the lure of sexual temptation?

I think it starts with how we view sex, is it something you think of as just pleasure & passion where you lose your self-control?  Or do you view it with respect knowing that it gives you great joy when kept in control?  I also think that people many times overestimate their ability to resist temptation….what starts out innocent, turns into an affair.  The Bible warns us that a wise person sees trouble coming and takes action to avoid it, but a foolish person continues on and suffers the consequences’. (Proverbs 22:3)

If you are/or have chosen a form of sexual expression that God has forbidden…you need to think about what’s really going on in your heart as to why you are or have been pursuing your own selfish gratification.  Then ask God for forgiveness for rejecting his ways and begin filling your mind with His thoughts through His Word and Prayer.
